Kiteboarding 4 Cancer is streaming all the action from the 2012 event in Hood River this weekend, July 14-15.
As North America’s largest amateur kiteboarding event, KB4C is part of the Tenacity Games, a year-long series of action-sport events that fundraise for Athletes for Cancer’s Adventure-based Survivorship Program.
The total funds raised in this weekend’s event have not been officially tallied yet, but funds raised by athletes alone were over $40,000. The proceeds will go to Athletes for Cancer’s Survivorship Camps, as well as regional cancer awareness, prevention, and survivorship organizations.
The 2011 Kiteboard 4 Cancer, powered by the John Wayne Cancer Foundation and Athletes for Cancer, is the largest amateur kiteboarding event in the world and heading into its 5th year! KB4C is the main event of the new Tenacity Games — a multi-day, multi-sport adventure fundraiser for regional cancer programs and Athletes for Cancer’s cancer survivorship program!!
If you are a cancer survivor and looking for the adventure and thrill of a lifetime, these camps are for you. And if you know of a survivor 18-40, forward this on to them! It is important to know that surfing, standup paddling, and kiteboarding are water-intense action sports with frequent impact on the water. Safety is our top priority. A sense of adventure but good common sense is required.
2010 Kiteboarding 4 Cancer and SUP 4 Cancer events over the weekend raised over $71,000 for regional cancer programs!
Wind Ninja’s goal is to raise positive and eclectic awareness, all the while motivating individuals to financially support KB4C through our active participation in this event.
