PKRA Brazil: Youri Zoon and Bruna Kajiya Finish On Top

Strong winds blowing in the bay of Barra Do Cunhau, Brazil welcomed the top ten best kiteboarders in the world for the end of the double eliminations. The Brazilian rider Carlos Madson (BRA, RRD) made an impressive comeback all the way to third place, winning four heats in a row and taking down some of the best riders in the world, one after another.

Welcome to Barra do Cunhau, Brazil for the third day of competition and the end of the single eliminations. There were some very close heats due to the presence of the Brazilian champions in the quarter finals. The victories however went to Youri Zoon (NED, Slingshot) in the men’s and Bruna Kajiya (BRA, Flexifoil) in the women’s division.

PKRA St. Peter Ording, Germany, Day 9: Finals: Zoon and Pulido are World Champions for 2011

By winning this event and the fifth one in a row, Youri Zoon takes home his first world champion title! Youri commented “I couldn’t be happier, it’s hard to believe, I’ve been fighting for so long now, I had my knee injuries that have held me back for a while but now, finally I got it! Super stoked!” The same thing happened in the girls with Gisela Pulido (ESP, Airush) taking her fourth PKRA World Title.
