With sunny skies, head-high surf, and great wind Pismo Beach delivered perfect kiteboarding conditions for today’s demos.
The 2012 Pismo Beach Kite Expo got off to an exciting start today when the day began with periods of heavy rain. Around noon the skies cleared and the wind began to blow.
What began as a local competition to help out the local schools in the small Baja community of La Ventana and El Sargento has grown into one of the largest kiteboarding events attracting kiteboarders from all over North America and beyond.
The Liquid Force crew has a pile of fresh 2012 gear packed in the bus and are headed down the West Coast. Meet and ride with team rider Jason Slezak and team rider and lead designer Julien Fillion.

The 2011 Pismo Beach KiteXpo ended on a high note as the predicted wind showed up at the event site today. Despite a gloomy and windless morning, the wind filled in around 1 pm and riders were able to hit the water on 9-12m kites.
Today was the first day of the 2011 Pismo Beach KiteXpo and the conditions delivered on the Central Coast. This morning started with clear blue skies and riders were on the water by 1pm.
For the first time, F-One Pro Riders Etienne Lhote (3rd PKRA 2005) & Charlotte Consorti (2011 World Speed record) will come to the US to dispense a few fortunate riders moves and tricks they have always dreamed of.
Today was the second day of the 2011 La Ventana Classic and KiteXpo, and today did not disappoint. After a few days of light wind, the El Norte winds returned with a vengeance today. Shortly after sunrise, approximately 130 kiteboarders and windsurfers began gathering on the beach today in front of Baja Joe’s to be shuttled to Isla Cerralvo to prepare for the crossing.

The 2010 Pismo Beach KiteXpo concluded today and, unfortunately, the wind never showed up as forecasted. Despite the lack of wind, the event was a success, with tons of kiteboarders from throughout California coming down to the beach to check out the latest kiteboarding gear from all of the manufacturers here.
Despite a promising morning, the wind never showed up today at the 2010 Pismo Beach KiteXpo. The marine layer moved in today and kept the weather at the beach cool and cloudy. Hopes are high for tomorrow’s promising forecast to deliver.
Well, there was no wind today at the first day of the 2010 Pismo Beach KiteXpo, but that didn’t stop all of the participants who came out to check out all of the latest gear on the beach. The weather was beautiful here today…
