The Annual General Meeting of the International Sailing Federation approved the decision to keep windsurfing in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games with 51.3% of the votes, reverting the initial option for kiteboarding.

Florida kiteboarder Rimas Kinka has done it again. Starting off on October 13, 2012, at 7:30 am in Jacksonville, Florida, and finishing near Palm Beach, Florida, the driven kiteboarder sailed 281.1 miles for 34 hours, 41 minutes, and 27 seconds, 52 miles more than the previous record.
