This is the very first milestone for most kiteboarders as it allows you to go out for a session and come back to the very spot you started from. On the road to becoming a self-sufficient and confident kiteboarder, going upwind is a must. Don’t worry if you haven’t mastered this yet. Remember that this is an art form - and just like most art forms, it takes a lot of practice and minor adjustments to get it just right.
