From Kiteboarder Remi Meum:

Don’t go making any plans for the 15-18th of April because the worlds first Red Bull Ragnarok (endurance snow kite race) is not to be missed!

The base for this one-of-a-kind endurance race, Haugastol Turistsenter, lies between Oslo and Bergen, and is the entrance gate to the El dorado of all snow-kiting locations, Hardangervidda in Norway.

Red Bull Ragnarok will select up to 200 hard-core contestants to race for 3 hours; 6 rounds of approximately 30 minutes each, stretching from 10-20km (depending on winds). After each round, if not already given up voluntarily, a number of snow-kite heroes will be eliminated.

The name “Ragnarok” stems from an event in Norse mythology, describing the last battle between the good and evil Gods, where only the heroes of the battlefield survive.

Red Bull Ragnarok imitates this myth in that only a mere few snow-kite heroes will succeed. Endurance is paramount and only the toughest contestant will make it to the finish line.

More information will soon be available on https://www.redbullragnarok.no in the meantime, accommodation for the event can be arranged at https://www.haugastol.no

Hope to see you there!
